Rate Increase Effective October 1, 2010: Starting October 1, 2010, the residential solid waste and recycling collection fee will increase to $12.34 a month. That breaks down to $8.68 per month for solid waste, $2.72 per month for recycling and $0.94 cents tax. The fee increase was approved by the City Council in 2008 as part of Duncan Disposal's contract review. As Southlake's solid waste and recycling provider since 2007, Duncan has provided the City with quality service and maintains a 96.4% satisfaction rate. Southlake residents put green in their routine! Between January 2008 and July 2010, Southlake residents put serious green in their routine! 75% of Southlake households participate in the residential recycling program and since January 2008, residents have recycled nearly 6000 tons or over 11.9 million pounds of paper, glass and plastic. That's almost 11.5 pounds recycled per household per week or 442 pounds recycled per person during the last 2.5 years.

- How do I set up new service?
If you are a new resident and need to set up trash and recycling service, please contact the City of Southlake - Utility Billing office at 817-748-8051. - Where do I get a recycling bin?
Residents may pick up a recycling bin and lid when residential water service has been established by visiting the Utility Billing office on the second floor of Southlake Town Hall, 1400 Main Street, Suite 200. If you are a current resident of Southlake and have not received a bin or lid, please contact the Utility Billing Office at (817) 748-8051. Additional or replacement bins can also be purchased at this office. Bins are $6.00 and lids are $4.00. - What can I recycle?

Recyclable materials can be placed loose in the plastic bin and do not need to be sorted by material type (this includes newspapers, magazines and household paper). The materials will be sorted by Duncan Disposal at their recycling facility. - Is there any special preparation of recyclables required?
Please make sure that all bottles, jars and cans are rinsed and lids are removed before putting them into the recycling bin. - What time should I set my bin out on my recycling day?
The bin should be set at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on your assigned collection day. - What if my recylables won't fit in my bin?
Place overflow material in a brown paper, clear, or blue bag beside your recycling bin. If you need more information, call Duncan Disposal at (817) 317-2424. - I recycle and want to do more. How can I be "greener?"
