City of Southlake accepts applications for open, posted positions only. We are not able to keep applications or resumes on file for future postings.
Application Process
To apply for a position with the City of Southlake, please complete the following steps:

Review Current Openings.

Current openings are updated weekly and are posted on the website and in the HR office.

Complete an Application.

Complete an application and supplemental forms (if required) for position(s) for which you meet the minimum qualifications as listed in the posting and on the job description.

Make sure your application is signed and indicate the position(s) for which you are applying.

You are encouraged to include a cover letter and resume with your application.

Review Process
Once you have submitted your application, the following steps take place:
- Human Resources will accept applications through the posted closing date of the open position.
- After the position closes, HR will forward the applications to the Hiring Manager for review. If you provide your e-mail address, HR will notify you via e-mail when your application has been forwarded. The department review process will take two - six weeks depending upon the position, the number of applications received, and the department.
- The Hiring Manager will contact applicants directly to schedule interviews and will make a conditional offer of employment to the candidate they feel is the best fit with the organization. Candidates who receive a conditional offer of employment must successfully pass pre-employment screening that includes, but is not limited to: a criminal background check, drug screen and physical.
- After an applicant has been hired, Human Resources will notify remaining applicants via e-mail that the position has been filled. Applicants who are not offered a position may reapply for another open position at any point.
